The basic tips are:
- Make sleep a part of your regular training regimen.
- Extend nightly sleep for several weeks to reduce sleep debt before competition.
- Maintain a low sleep debt by obtaining a sufficient amount of nightly sleep (nine or more hours for teens and young adults).
- Keep a regular sleep-wake schedule, going to bed and waking up at the same times every day.

The Rochester Rowing Club will host the 8th Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championships, also known as the Minnesota Power Pull. We have hosted this event since 2002. This year we will hold the event at the Rochester Recreation Center on February 22nd, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Rochester Rowing Club was honored to hold the 2009 Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championships on February 22, 2009 at the Rochester Recreational Center.
Awards were given for first and second places in each of 17 events. All events were 2000K except where indicated. All times are actual except where noted.

First place: Anna Roe of the Rochester Rowing Club with a time of 08:29.9
Second place: Anna Brandtjen of the Minnesota Boat Club with a time of 08:32.1

Last night, we were preparing for a piece on Silver Lake, I glanced up to see a spectacular American Bald Eagle overhead whose head and tail feathers gleamed brilliant white in the setting sun. I told the kids to look up and what a spectacular sight they saw. We all looked on with awe as the eagle circled and flew back over us.
