Winter Training and Spring Training
RRC Juniors look forward to Winter Training to build strength, endurance, and quality rowing form under Winter Indoor Rowing Coach Pete Wettstein. We start Winter Training November 17th, Monday through Friday at 5:15 pm. The Dean family has generously invited the RRC Junior team to use their space. See the attached file for their address and check the calendar for the announcement and map. The program will be ready for new rowers in January. A training program designed by Pete and Xeno Mueller will prepare our Juniors for the Minnesota State Indoor Rowing Championship, the Minnesota Power Pull, Sunday February 22 at the Rochester Recreation Center or the Crash-B Sprints the same day in Boston.
We will be ready for warmer climes in Austin Texas, for Spring Training March 27 through April 4. We have support from the coaches there including University of Texas and former RRC coaches Bob Krentler and Paula Dean, as well as Austin Rowing Club coach Camille Urban and Avalon Rowing Club coxswain/coach Sally O'Connor. We aim to return to Rochester rowing fast - ready for Spring racing.
Download the schedule (attachment below). We will announce changes.

Fall Rowing Season
Junior rowers raced at Death Row in Duluth, the Head of the DesMoines, and the Head of the Mississippi. They capped the season at Head of the Rock with top showings by Astrid, George, and a solid performance by Natalie in the 3.1 mile head race. Out of an amazing 1900 registered rowers, Astrid and Natalie raced in the Womens Open 1x 3.1 miles rowing hard to get to the start and 3.1 miles over the course taking 6th and 7th. George raced the Open Mens 1x to capture 4th place of 18, only 4 seconds out of 3rd place and 32 seconds off the winning pace. Astrid and George hot seated to a 3rd place finish. They would have captured 2nd place had it not been for losing a bow marker during the hot seating. This was a spectacular performance at a big regatta by our Juniors. We are proud of all the rowers efforts this Fall.
